Shirley Mitchell-Walker started her career in the field of mental health in 1995 at St. Louis Mental Health Center, which was purchased by BJC HealthCare in 1996. She was hired as a temporary employee then moved into a permanent position as receptionist. From there she held a variety of positions including medical records registrar, clinical team secretary, central site coordinator, and human resources assistant. In 2011, Shirley accepted her current role as account liaison, in which she represents BJC EAP for all of BJC HealthCare and external client companies as well.
Shirley’s dedication, hard work and exceptional customer service focus was twice recognized by BJC Behavioral Health when she was awarded Employee of the Year for the entire organization. Shirley believes "you should treat others as you want to be treated.” Shirley has two "amazing" daughters who have worked and/or volunteered for BJC Behavioral Health during her years of service.
