BJC EAP Offers Virtual Visits

Did you know there is a way to seek the employee assistance services you need from your computer or mobile device? BJC Employee Assistance Program (BJC EAP) offers virtual care. Virtual care offers personalized face-to-face video visits with a BJC EAP consultant using secure video technology. Clients can schedule and join appointments from their computer, iPhone/iPad or Android device.

Virtual counseling sessions are the same as face-to-face sessions – a prior appointment will be necessary; counseling will be provided free of charge by BJC EAP’s expert consultants and services will be completely confidential.

An added advantage to BJC EAP’s virtual platform is the ability to make appointments online. “You can still call to make your appointment, but many clients lack the privacy to make a phone call at work. Online scheduling is an ideal option for privacy and access,” says Cynthia Hovis, BJC EAP clinical supervisor.

Virtual counseling meets the needs of clients who cannot leave their workplaces, lack transportation or would like to participate with family members who cannot travel. “We know that many clients want to take advantage of EAP services, but an office visit session can be impossible for them,” says Hovis. “Options like virtual counseling will enable them to use the EAP benefit – many of them for the first time.”

Virtual counseling is part of BJC EAP’s mission to ensure that all clients can take advantage of this free benefit, regardless of the barriers or limitations they may face. “Our goal is to provide great employee assistance services to all clients and their family members,” says Hovis. “Adding virtual care to telephonic and in-person appointment options expands our ability to serve our valued clients.”

How It Works

To receive a virtual visit, all you need is an Internet connection, a mobile device (iOS/Android) or a camera-enabled Mac/PC computer.
