Mindfulness: More Than Just Meditation

Mindfulness is being “aware” -- aware of what you are choosing to think every moment, and then using simple techniques to evaluate your own thoughts. The idea of being mindful requires being present and being more conscious of life as it happens. I frequently discuss mindfulness with my clients and suggest that they focus on staying in the “here and now.”

Motivation: What It Is and How to Get It

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, motivation is a force, stimulus or influence, i.e. incentive or drive. Motivation is what causes us to act, whether it is to get a glass of water, do work, read a book, or drive to work every day and do your best. It seems that some people have more motivation than others, and many clients have come to my office asking how to increase their own motivation.
